3 keys to weight loss

Weight problems afflicting many people attributed to three main factors. One is the metabolism of which were written many theories regarding the effect of metabolism on our weight. The basic metabolic rate is the rate at which our body burns calories to keep functioning at rest. If we add to that the calories consumed during physical activity and mental activity we have the total metabolic rate. The metabolism is influenced by gender, age, diet, activity level, thyroid function and total sleep. Other factors that influence it, is body fat, body temperature, weight and probably our genetic predisposition. Exercise helps to increase metabolism.

A second factor is our parents. There is a tendency for overweight parents to have also overweight children. Genetic predisposition has a role, but our ability to distinguish between this and the effects of environmental stimuli and the way of living is limited. The mother sets the standard diet from the early years, standards that often follow us throughout our lives.

The latter factor, perhaps the most important is motivation and the ability of us to overcome the psychological obstacles to make a change in diet. Most overweight people know that fluctuations in weight have no effect. The diets of fashion can be fun, but the results are insignificant, because 80%-90% of people who do these diets regain the pounds they were before the diet and more, a fact that makes these diets even more unhealthy. What we need is actually a long-term change in diet and in our lifestyle. At this point an important role has the motivation mental capacity and will power of each. The concentration in our underlying forces, the focus on a long term vision, and the direct benefit of our membership in such a program is necessary. These combined with the constant confirmation that we can do it, can help us overcome the weight problems.
